Residential remodeling project included 800 sq/ft infill addition and gut / remodeling of most of the original house. The Great Room addition required connecting three exterior elevations and two different roof lines and pitches, and additional structural framing to allow a full vaulted ceiling. A gable end wall of windows washes the room with natural light. Opposite this room; the dining room was bumped out and a new gable end wall of windows to match the family room was added. The dining room with its angular ceiling became know as the "stealth room". "Good design comes in 3's", so we took advantage of additional vaulted ceilings in the kitchen and created wall niches and framed door way openings to accent these walls of windows. The kitchen was then remodeled including Maple cabinets, Corian countertops, stainless steel appliances, new pre-finished hardwood floors, and low voltage under cabinet and niche lighting designed in-house. The hall bath was gutted. New maple cabinets, a tiled shower with multiple shower heads and body sprays, pocket door to conserve usable space, and new plumbing fixtures updated the bathroom creating a pleasing experience. A custom design was etched into the shower glass completing the update designed for comfort and privacy. Most notable from the street is the balanced look of the house. "The home now has curb appeal!" A new covered front porch with grand columns and wood railing compliments the once unbalanced living room addition. A deck connects the front porch with the great room addition. The job was completed in 10 Months during one of the wettest summer/fall, in recent memory. Architectural design was performed by Indovina Associates Architects of Pittsburgh.
